Bride hair style ideas
Up or Down? Short or Long? Braided or Straight? What to do with your hair for your wedding can be a major stress causer before the big day. Ask your friends and family and we would bet you get as many different responses as you did the number of people you asked!
That being said, the key is picking a style that looks good and that you are happy with. Every bride wants to look and feel beautiful and feel confident on her big day. Choose a hairstyle that works not only with your dress and accessories, but also your personality.
Many brides start considering hairstyles as soon as they have chosen their dress and we know some who tried 20 to 30 different hairstyles before their big day. It had to be just right! The best place to start is setting up a meeting with your hairstylist and getting their thoughts, play with styles and see what options you have. BE SURE to take pictures of yourself as you try different styles so that you can look back on them later when you are deciding on a style (con’t below)
Are you planning on wearing a veil? Be sure to keep that in mind as you are trying out different styles as you need to take it and how it is attached into consideration. For instance, if you are planning on having a veil and keeping your hair down, put a slight curl on the ends of your hair for a softened look that will complement your veil.
If you have chosen a gown with a high neckline or shrug, consider different updo styles as an option, as they allow your beautiful neckline to be seen. If the gown has a low neckline, and/or exposed shoulders, a long flowing hairstyle would be well suited for the gown. Long, soft ringlets or soft waves would play well into the photographs!
Whether your hair is short or long, be sure to have your stylist help you with options to keep your hair looking great and under control for the entire wedding and reception. If you chose to have it trimmed before the wedding, consider having it done a week or two before so that you are comfortable with the cut. A deep conditioning treatment would help get it ready, too, for your big day style!
You can find style ideas everywhere you turn: Magazines, websites, salons or even watching TV. Make note of the things you like or dislike and tell your stylist. Most of all, have fun as you try new styles out. You never know but you might find a new look for everyday wear in the process.
